Boy recalls past life as a 1930s movie extra

A young boy astonished his parents when he recalled vivid details of who he was in a previous life.

Ryan’s recollections began when he was around five years old and centered around his memories of being an actor who lived and worked on various movies in Hollywood.

He told his parents how he had danced on Broadway during his career and had even met legends such as Rita Hayworth. He would often talk about “going home” to Hollywood and described how he’d lived on a street with the word “rock” in its name.

“His stories were so detailed and they were so extensive, that it just wasn’t like a child could have made it up,” said his mother, Cyndi, who spent a lot of time researching her son’s recollections at the local library in an effort to try and make sense of it all.

When she came across a book showing a still photograph from the 1932 movie “Night After Night” however Ryan incredibly pointed to one of the extras in the shot and declared that this was him.

The case was later investigated by psychiatry professor Dr. Jim Tucker who, having documented dozens of similar cases, spent time researching each of Ryan’s claims.

What he discovered was that the man in the picture, Marty Martyn, had actually done all of the things that Ryan claimed to be recalling from his previous life.

Several of the details provided by the five-year-old, which were particularly difficult to corroborate and couldn’t be researched online, also turned out to be completely accurate.

Martyn, who died back in 1964, even lived at 825 North Roxbury Dr. in Beverly Hills, a match to Ryan’s description of living at a place with the word “rock” in its name.

“If you look at a picture of a guy with no lines in a movie, and then tell me about his life, I don’t think many of us would have come up with Marty Martyn’s life,” said Dr Tucker.

“Yet Ryan provided many details that really did fit with his life.”
